Maddid's Nordic Festival -in association with the Space

Maddid's Nordic Festival -in association with the Space FESTIVAL

Sat 11th 6.30pm, & Sun 12th July 5pm -£12/£8

Come for Nordic waffles and contemporary performances at the Space this summer.  Maddid's Nordic Festival -in association with the Space

Maddid's Nordic Festival is the only Nordic Festival of its kind in London . We aim to promote Nordic contemporary culture to people in the UK as well as creating networking opportunities for its participants whether it be the artists or the audience. This will be an annual festival and this summer is a little taster of what's to come in future years.

Starting from scratch, we aim to build a festival that displays both Nordic artists living in the UK as well as visiting companies from home. This will be a great opportunity to see a piece of Nordic contemporary culture and performance as well as to hang out in this unique east London venue.

Ultimately, Maddid Nordic Festival is starting to build bridges to home.

A little Night Music (Eine Kleine Nachtmusik) 1/3

A little night music

Wed 3rd June, Thur 2nd July, Thur 6th August, 8pm -£10/£8

This new concert series follows from where A Little Lunch Music, the lunchtime's, left in May.

A Little Night Music (Eine Kleine Nachtmusik) is a monthly appointment where it will be highlighted by the compositional differences between music from the classical and more modern period. On each evening such dissimilarities will be exploited through a hearing comparrison between the first part of the concert where will be presented peices from the classical repertoire, and the second part in which part in more modern works will be proformed.

It will be an exciting oppertunity for the audience, who will have a chance to enjoy some of their favourite masterpeices along with modern works, which are not likely to be experienced otherwise. The purpose behind this choice is to further the debate on modern music started during the preceding concert series where modern music has been critically examined. This kind of music is, in fact, oftern neglected simply simply because audiences are not used to listen to it. This series series aims to broaden the horizens on the above repetoire, keeping an eye at the same time on audiences' preferences to their darklings of the classical canon.

Wednesday 3rd June:

Federica Mossone (harp) and Jennifer Raven (flute)

Christine Radjabou (vocals) and Richard Ralph (piano)

Thursday 2nd July:

Emily Baines (recorders) and Jelena Makarova (piano)

Thursday 6th August:

Francesca and Roberta Cannas (Violins)
